Founded in 1883 by nine visionary Grand Rapids women, St. Cecilia Music Center stands as a testament to the power of determination and community. These trailblazers made history by building the first music hall in the United States, founded exclusively by women through innovative grassroots funding campaigns, creating a lasting cultural institution that transformed their community. Through this concert, we celebrate their remarkable legacy, which continues to elevate musical culture and inspire West Michigan today.
