About This Event
The Kent Philharmonic Orchestra is presenting a wonderful concert of Russian music October 24th. Opening with the Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla by Glinka and then featuring the Michigan Ballet Academy students dancing to Tchaikovsky’s Suite from the ballet Swan Lake. The program will also feature the KPO Concerto Contest winner, Jason Shaye performing the first movement of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1. The finale will be an homage to Halloween with the performance of Moussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain. The Kent Philharmonic Orchestra is proudly conducted by Dr. Libor Ondras and sponsored by Grand Rapids Community College
