About This Event
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work and spiritual healing that uses guided life force energy, or "Rei," to promote balance and healing in the body, mind, and spirit. Practitioners use their hands to channel this universal energy, helping to release tension, reduce stress, and support the body's natural healing abilities. A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience during which various instruments produce specific sounds, frequencies, and vibrations to shift brainwaves into a relaxed state. In this state, a person's innate healing abilities can work more effectively to bring them back into vibrational alignment while balancing the mind, body, and spirit.
For this special hybrid healing experience (limited to 20 people), Matty Makowski, a certified Sound Healing and Reiki Practitioner and owner of Matty Sunshine Sound Healing, infuses Rei into his 8 crystal singing bowls, a Heng gong named “Sunny”, Tingsha cymbals, and more instruments that produce sounds, vibrations, and frequencies that invite you into a deeper state of consciousness, serve as an opportunity to unplug from external stimuli, and promote self-inquiry/discovery. While these sounds and vibrations fill the room, Jessie Lynn - a 3rd Degree Usui and Holy Fire Reiki Master/Teacher, Licensed Medical/Manual Massage Therapist, Certified Holistic Health Practitioner with specialities in Herbalism and AcuMyo Therapies, and owner of Horizon Holistics - offers Rei over the entire group and performs a brief reiki healing on each individual participant.
WHAT TO BRING: We recommend bringing a yoga mat, pillow(s), blanket(s), cozy clothes, and water. If needed, So Hum Yoga Studio provides storage cubbies for personal belongings, 10 mats, 10 blocks, 10 blankets, and 10 straps on a first come, first serve basis. You may also consider bringing something additional to lay on top of, like an extra blanket, sleeping bag, or even a pool float. Eye masks can also be helpful to wear to enhance relaxation. If you will need to sit upright for the entire experience, please let us know in advance if you will require a chair or other accommodations. Approximately one week prior to the event, all registered guests will receive an email with important details and reminders.
ACCESSIBILITY: There is an elevator located inside the building and this event is wheelchair accessible.
