Sound Baths at Boochie: A Sonic Chakra Cleanse

You’re invited to unwind your mind at Boochie - Kombucha & Wellness Bar in downtown Rockford during Sound Baths at Boochie - an ongoing series of restorative and immersive sound baths that invite you into a deeper state of consciousness, serve as an opportunity to unplug and relax, and promote self-inquiry/discovery. A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience during which various instruments produce specific sounds, frequencies, and vibrations to shift brainwaves into a relaxed state. In this state, a person's innate healing abilities can work more effectively to heal the mind, body, and spirit - bringing them back into vibrational alignment.

The focus of this series event will be to cleanse, balance, and nurture through sound the 7 chakras at a time when energetic balance is important for the forward momentum and new beginnings the spring season encourages. Derived from the Sanskrit word for “wheel” or “disk”, chakras are energy centers located along the spine, from the tailbone to the crown of the head, that are constantly spinning to keep our spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical health and energy balanced. When chakras become unbalanced, physical and emotional symptoms can manifest in the body, mind, and spirit. The 7 primary chakras include Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third-Eye, and Crown.

During this 60-minute sound bath, Matty Makowski, a certified Sound Healing & Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Practitioner and owner of Matty Sunshine Sound Healing, will play 7 pure quartz crystal singing bowls, among other instruments, that align with the unique frequencies of each chakra to help relax your nervous system while balancing your chakras.

Guests are encouraged to wear the color green to help promote balance within the Heart Chakra, which governs our ability to love ourselves and others and serves as a critical connection point between the upper and lower chakras. Space is limited to 25 people.

TICKETS: $30 per person (tickets for this event include a 60-minute sound bath, a kombucha sampler provided by Boochie, and a Chakra Guide to help you nurture your chakras beyond this experience).

WHAT TO BRING: You are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, pillow, blanket, water, and soft and comfortable clothes that allow you to fully relax. Depending on the thickness of your yoga mat, you may also consider bringing something additional to lay on top of, like an extra blanket, sleeping bag, or even a pool float. Eye masks will also be available if needed to help enhance your relaxation. If you will need to sit upright, Boochie has a handful of cozy chairs available on a first come, first serve basis.
