About This Event
We are thrilled to bring the magic of the holiday season to life once again with our beloved production of The Nutcracker. With choreography by Val Caniparoli, stunning sets designed by Grand Rapids’ own Chris Van Allsburg (The Polar Express) and Tony Award-winner Eugene Lee, and Tchaikovsky’s iconic score performed live by the Grand Rapids Symphony, our production is a feast for the senses that captures the magic of the season. We can’t wait to share this holiday tradition with you.
Follow Clara as she receives a magical nutcracker doll from her mysterious godfather, Herr Drosselmeyer. At night, the nutcracker comes to life and leads Clara into a grand battle against an army of mice. After helping the Nutcracker defeat the Mouse King, Clara is guided on a magical adventure by the elegant Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier through the Land of the Sweets where she befriends confections and enjoys a festive celebration.
